The lychee is a fruit that asks for a great deal of love and dedication. Ten long years can pass before the first harvest, because it needs hot humid summers and dry winters. It wants hands that know how to grow it and stubborn people, like those of southern China where it comes from.
It has a rough shell and white flesh, delicate, with notes of cherry. A hundred and fifty grams of lychee cover the daily requirement of vitamin C and potassium.
